The hydrostatic and pneumatic tests are recommended methods for the equipment to have basic operating and safety conditions. The first, hydrostatic, is mandatory in boilers and pressure vessels, according to Regulatory Standard 13 (NR13), and is carried out to identify if there are leaks in welds, threads, structures and flanges. The second, pneumatic, is used to check the pressure capacity and the current pressure of a given component.
